For the college aged crowd (ages 18 - 28), where do they usually go for clubbing, drinks, or on the weekend (besides the beach when the weather is nice)?

Jax Beach, regardless of the weather (Downtown Jax Beach has plenty of clubs, bars and music venues clustered together)
St Johns Town Center
Riverside (Five Points and King Street)
San Marco
Downtown

Jax Beach is the best for that age. There is multiple bars with a great atmosphere. Whatever you do though have a DD out here. The cops saturate the area and are looking for any reason to grab you up. The town center has a few place but its mostly filled with your typical d-bag clubber who wears a bedazzled shirt, drives an 10 year old Mercedes/BMW/Escalade, works out 6 hours a day, and thinks he/she is the hottest thing to ever hit the face of the earth.

Riverside is also great off of Kings Street. The age here is often a bit higher than the beach though, this is more of the post-grad young professional area.

Thanks for the advice. I'm like a 10 minute drive from the Jax beaches area so I'll probably be going there often.

Hey Nomad, if you are going to be drinking in Jax Beach please take 02Blackgt's advice and either get a designated driver or call an Uber. It's only a 10 minute drive but the Jax, Neptune, & Atlantic Beach cops are EVERYWHERE and they are just waiting for you to leave the bar and get in your car. A 10 minute drive in an Uber is $5 - very affordable and more importantly much less than the $10K you will shell out for your 1st DUI.

Good Luck!

Heck.......most youngs are so cooped up in their rooms with eyes and brain glued to a cellphone or whatever other access they have to social media, that I really do not believe having things to do are as big of a concern for most these days- damn shame too. Yeah, they might want to meet together in a big group somewhere at a center of social-ness, so they cant make some kind of stupid video to post online and send to everyone, but these days youngs have no idea what it means to have real, true, pure fun. It is very scary to realize that these same kids will be in positions or power or rule eventually. Something has got to be altered soon in this country, as it pertains to the great interest and rule that tech stuff has over people, or we all gonna be in worse doo-doo than we can even imagine fo' sho'.
