Psychiatrist accepting patients? (health insurance, health, rating)

Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist in the St. Johns/Southside area that is accepting new patients? We have several family members on meds and would like to find a closer doctor. We do have health insurance.

Just this past week we had try and find a Psychiatrist for a family member.My wife called all over Jax,OP.The ones that would answer the phone were not taking new patients.And the others would not answer the phone or return calls.We finally found an opening in a clinic in Gainseville.We also have insurance.A very frustrating issue.

If you have a family doc, he/she should be able to recommend someone. Sometimes when doctors aren't accepting new patients they will make an exception if referred by another doc.

While it's not exactly St. Johns or the Southside, it is in Mandarin, I know a couple of people who go to Dr. Madkaiker on Crown Point Ct. All of them have been very satisfied. He doesn't just do "medicine management", but he also takes the time to talk to you and make sure your prescriptions are doing what the need to be doing.
