Default Horse property areas

Howizit! Have finally made the decision to get my arse back to the ocean! Have lived in Ocala (HELL) for the past seven years but need to find an "inexpensive" 15-20 acres (or more) for the ponies and myself. Can't spend a ton of money as the horses aren't money producers. Please drop me a note and let me know the areas around J-ville where I might find success. Any suggestions, ideas or recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

If that's possible...maybe way out in the Westside close to Baldwin around the Chaffee Road area. I saw some ten acre places that were very affordable.

Acreage that was $2k-$5k an acre a few years back is now $10k-$20k and more, so prices have gone way up in the rural areas surrounding Jax (going deep into Clay county and everything).

You might want to look more towards North Central Florida instead of North East.

"and more" are the operative words here. I recommend that you check on Realtor.com, or RealtyWeb.net to search for some property, or contact a realtor. There is a lot of property to be found, but a realtor can help you with what you can afford.

Riveree is correct that you will have to look pretty far outside of Jacksonville to find really affordable property. Even though property values have declined in NEFL, unimproved land does not appear to have declined as much as improved property. West or North of Jax will probably be your best bets. St. John's County hasn't seemed to have dropped much at all, and with the construction that is going on, much of the land has been scooped up.

I was going to say $25k an acre, but I didn't want to be an alarmist!
