Question Farmer's Markets

Can anyone here recommend a good farmer's market to go to in Jacksonville? Our old town had a combo farmer's market and art fair every Saturday morning downtown...I got a little spoiled on the fresh squeezed O.J. and homemade crepes - LOL! Thanks in advance for any recommendations and opinions.

The Beach Blvd. Flea Market is my source for fruits and vegetables. I think it as Desalvo and Beach. I went there to buy my weekly produce last weekend and what would usually cost around 5-6 dollars at Publix only cost me 2 dollars at the flea market. Also, I thought it was interesting that their little food stands sell empanadas and limpia to cater to the large number of hispanics and filipinos there.

If you're near downtown, there's a open air product market on Beaver St. called JAX Farmers Market.
Jacksonville Farmers Market
They're open every single day.
Have to go in the mornings for best selections. Just know your way in and out of that area though.

I like that one too!

The Farmer's Market on the Northside is good, but it can be a bit of a drive for me (Southside/Intracoastal West).

The Beach Blvd Flea Market has an even better veggie selection too - lots of asian vegetables (I don't recall the Farmer's Market having any).

As Vdecapio said, it's right on Beach Blvd - look for the blue roofs just west of the Beach Blvd & St. John's Bluff Road intersection.

Beach Blvd Flea Market, just go to the left side of the market, all the Asian grocers stands are along that side. They're not all related though, some might think they're a big family lol. Most things are only $1.

The Jacksonville Farmers Market at 1810 West Beaver Street, a mile west of Downtown and a few blocks for interstate exits for Union/Beaver and Stockton is the largest, oldest (70 plus years) and only full time farmers makret in northeast Florida. Farmers, wholesale, and retail are all there.

The TV stations have consistently found that produce there is 50% plus less than grocery stores. They don't advertise so its Jacksonville's best kept secret but they are alway full, especially Friday through Sunday. Unlike other seasonal, one-day markets, you can go any day of the year, dawn to dusk, as they never close.

Some new ones are popping up too......

There is one every Friday at the Saint Johns Town Center, there is occasionally one at The Avenues Mall, and a new Farmer's Market is planned for San Marco (in the early stages of development right now).
