Default Raise for Duval County School Superintendent
In today's news: Duval County School Superintendent Gets 73 Percent Pay Raise.
That's $275,000 in annual salary.

I don't know, thought Duval's public school system isn't doing THAT well. Think he deserved it?

obviously the answer is no, 275k is outrageous for the Duval system

How does that fit in the budget,didnt they just mention all of the short falls in the budget,we get taxed more while they increase there salaries,yeah that sounds like Jacksonville.

I know we pay a lot less on average than the other comparable Florida cities, so that might have been our problem in the past (we're less competitive).

I too think $275k is outrageous - and that's just the salary - what's the entire package worth?? But if we don't compete, we don't have a shot at getting the top talent I guess.
