instead of depending on us why don't you contact the school boards directly or visit

Duval county changed their address,it's now: http://www.duvalschools.org
And yes, many principals like to fill positions before June...but many of the openings would not be known as of then |

I am not "depending" on anyone. Just trying to get some more info. Isn't that what these boards are for? I have been in touch with several recruiters from several districts, and it is always different. I just figured I would try to get some "inside" information from any current teachers who access these boards. Recruiters and school districts, from my experience, usually have different information and input than those who have went through the application and interview process. But Thank You.

Wow...I don't know what you're getting upset about, we're giving you some places to research and I gave you the updated website for DCSB, which would also have listings for job openings. I happen to work for them, which is why I gave you the info that I did....

Not getting upset. I was just thrown off by the "dont depend on us". I guess thats the problem with the computer and typing; it is difficult to read people and their intentions. I appreciate any help.

Wouldn't it make better sense to contact the school systems that you are hoping to get an offer from, rather than the public? I believe that is good advice. They will be able to tell you what exactly is needed to obtain certification in the state of Florida. Most states will hire if you have a certificate in another state as long as you are working to certify in theirs. They usually give you a year. But don't take my word for official. Contact those who can give you concrete answers.

I understand that....anyway, the DCSB has listings and you can complete an online application. As for what openings there may be now...I doubt there's many. What grade level are you certified in, and are you ESE?

I am certified K-6 Reg. Ed, and K-12 Special Ed. I also have a Masters in Reading. I am planning on contacting particular schools and principals in the next 3 weeks or so. I just wanted as much info as I could get before I start the process.

you do not have to wait to take the test at a test site.....I took my K-6 certification at a promissory center. You pay a little extra, but you get unofficial results as soon as your done (it's on computer) You can normally schedule a few days in advance.
