Chipotle going in at SJTC?
Chipotle announced last year they wanted to enter the Jacksonville market and were looking for a site, I believe this is the site... The Markets at Town Center. Where Life Meets Style. Under Construction.
The far left end is Chipotle's logo. Normally when they put fliers out like this they use generic names when they don't have a tenant like "make-up" or "hair stylist", and they have the other announced tenants already up; BestBuy Golf Galaxy, Babies and Toys R Us.
For those of you who don't know what Chipotle is, its a "big burrito place" like Moe's or Qdoba... only better, much better imho. So no where is this confirmed, but this looks REALLY promising! MMMMM, barbacoa...

I guess I am not quite sure what difference is makes if it is a chain or not if the food tastes good. I can understand if you want the city to build some cultural base/identity, but today's chain is yesterdays mom and pop store that did something right. In this case, make awsome burritos. Sorry if that bugs you but I for one am excited about this, and at least I know that there will be one less person standing in front of me in the line that typically is out the door at Chipotle.

Omg thanks for that smiledoc! being wanting to eat that forever, closest one is in Orlando but don't want to travel there to eat burrito.
They used to be owned by McD, but they sold it so it's not related to McD no more. People used to call them McD Burrito...gives it a bad name?
They do fun things to give you free burrito, like on Halloween, go in as a burrito and you'll get one for free. People normally just put some foil around them and still worked.

this will give Qdoba and Moe's some heat!
I guess this is what's going infront of Costco, but do we need another evil Best Buy?

I am from Denver, where Chipotle's originated. We ate at the very first one.
To be honest, I never much cared for their burritos, they are just too much to eat--but my husband and sons love them.
I heard that Chipotle was a good company to work for, and I do know they've always used Niman Ranch meat.
So if we must have chains, I'll take Chipotle.

Moe's and Qdoba - blech!
Now Tijuana Flats I love....sort of a chain, sort of local - it's a franchise started by a guy in Orlando.
If Chipotle is like Tijuana Flats or better, then I'll check them out when they get here.

Could be .
I order the same thing every time, and I almost always go to the Lakewood location (University Blvd), and it's always good - never a problem. From time to time I go to the Beach Blvd location and it's good, but I think Lakewood is better (burrito less soggy @ Lakewood; staff very cool @ Lkwd).
Try the veggie burrito with black beans next time!

mmm Baja Fresh - Chipotle is a little heavy for me (as are Moe's and probably any other rice-based burrito places...). Does anyone else know Baja Fresh (closest one is in Boca Raton)? The burritos are more salad-y, but still yummmmmmmy!
But you can ask for less rice at Chipotle, and it is yummy :-)
