Yup, happened this morning. I was taking last minute recycling to the curb and I noticed something moving in the shrubs in front of the house. I saw the dark pale brown color and immediately knew what it was... Luckily the neighbor that killed the last water moccasin on our property was watering his lawn so I yelled out to him and he came over with a shovel and a rake. He stabbed and held him with the shovel/rake mid-body and I stabbed it a 2nd time closer to the head.

It was a 4 footer so he was a grown adult, thick & muscular. He thrashed his head open-mouthed/fangs flashing. Have to tell you it took a lot of effort because he was sitting on dirt. The shovel kept digging into the ground but we eventually got him. These suckers are territorial so we have to kill them unfortunately especially with a 2 year old playing out front as much as my boy does... May need to do something with the landscaping.

All my neighbors tell me they haven't seen one in over 10 years. We haven't been here a year and we've killed 2!! I attached the link. Hope you can see it (apologize to all if it's too graphic).

Great neighbor for sure. He invites the whole neighborhood for New Year's breakfast which we took part in this past January. We're very happy with the neighborhood but these water moccasins are annoying!!!

Am I the only one killing venomous snakes around here?! Well, if I stop posting, you guys will know why. For those keeping track, that's 2 water moccasins and 1 copperhead in the past 3 months on my property.

Came across this copperhead this morning *** WARNING GRAPHIC PIC *** :

The copperhead was approximately a foot long. Water moccasin in the pic I posted was about 4 feet (I measured it after it was dead).
