I have, including neighbors down the street from me, but most of the Westerners I've met were people like myself who have lived in several states, rather than spending their entire lives in CO or wherever.

We spent many many years in CO but I always missed the beach, and got tired of spring and fall snowstorms.
I went to CU's 2015 graduation, and when the snow fell on Mother's Day weekend, I was reminded of one of the reasons I left.

Florida has long been a boom/bust state, with growth up and down over many years.

And now word is getting out about north Florida. My brother in New Mexico sent me a huge, splashy travel article from his local paper, all about Amelia Island. We are getting visitors from all over the US, as well as overseas.

It is inevitable that some visitors are going to do more than just visit. Some end up relocating.

I only hope that greed does not destroy this region.

Good point. Just take a look at home prices in Los Angeles to get an idea what greed can do!
