Mary Bear on News Channel 4 is very good. I also like George Winterling's weather, but I haven't seen him in awhile. Staples for me are pretty much Donna Deegan, Jeannie Blaylock and Tim Deegan.

I also thought Charlene Shirk was going to become an anchor, but I guess she felt there was no place for her, and she took position with the TPC and does a lot of commercials.

IMHO radio here is pretty bad, but then I'm probably just plain old.

I'm with you - NPR 89.9FM is about the best we got in radio IMO. Took me a long while to get used to the slooooooooow-talking Diane Rehm but I really like her even-handedness when it comes to the issues. She's good. Other than that I get my news from BBC World. I hate the mainstream network channels for news, they are much too repetitive and, like you said, they sensationalize every little thing. I still don't know who Heath Ledger is (or was) and I still don't care.

Does anyone remember Daryl Tardy? I think he was on Channel 4 when I used to live down there.... My wife and I would make fun of him every morning with his big fake smile..... he was a corn ball..... we couldn't wait for him to be replaced....

I see these 3 are still around from the 90's as i do like them especially Jeannie Blaylock.

I see now on the radio that Andy Johnson is on as i listen on the internet to him on 1460 A.M. as they talk alot about local issues even if it is slanted to the left. I remember that even though Andy is a Dem he used to have some big battles back then with Corrine Brown.

Also used to listen to Greg Larson doing the sports call in show back then.
