My in-laws are looking to sell a home up in Bethany Beach DE and purchase a home in the NW area of SJC. Problem is what's the best way since hey need the proceeds of the sale to purchase down here. It seems like the market down here is red hot for what they are looking for but, it nay take some time to actually sell theirs in DE

Thanks

They could rent a small apartment here in Jax area, get to know the area better, get aquainted with local stores, find doctors they like etc. and find exactly where they want to live. Many people suggest renting for a while so you get to know a new city before investing in a new house, and that makes sense.

They may even find that they would rather live in another part of the metro area. There will always be something available when they are ready

You could try asking this question in the Real Estate Forum - I've gotten a lot of great advice and suggestions from poster there since many have experienced the same scenario as your in-laws.

We sold our house in south Florida first. Then moved here and rented for a while before we decided to build. Then we used the sales proceeds to build. Can't think of a better way to do things if you need the sales proceeds to buy a new place. Robyn
