I think this is a harmless snake. He sure tried to strike a lot while being removed. Slithered by my foot while I was using the "facilities". It was removed to a nearby ditch without harm to snake... it was PISSED though.

Lessons learned:

1. I can pull my back while levitating and screaming from a sitting position.
2. I can still run out of a restroom with a pulled back.
3. I am REALLY scared of snakes.

Thanks for your help!!

Looks like a Pygmy Rattler (venomous) to me. If it is, you're very fortunate it didn't come at you.

I've killed 3 venomous snakes on my property in the last few months (2 water mocassins and copperhead). Haven't seen the Pygmys yet but I know they're on my property somewhere...

No thanks! Definitely not good for my health. Not to make light of it but I felt like I was having heart palpitations.

Not a pygmy rattlesnake at all.

I will need to know the location to give a proper identification. It's an interesting snake...

Looks like a garden snake based on the checkered pattern. Non-venomous. If it had been a pygmy rattlesnake it would have likely tried to bite you. From my understanding they are very aggressive snakes. The garden snakes are essentially harmless.

Near Camp Tomahawk park. Not far from intersection on San Jose and Baymeadows.

It's an ancient Egyptian Sumerian Sand Snake. They are worth millions and you just let it go in a ditch.
