Good Morning All,

We will be relocating to Jacksonville Florida this March 2017. We will rent first to see the area then buy. I've been doing a lot of research and what I've found is gorgeous apartment complexes that look amazing. I go a step further and look at the feedback from google and they have horrible ratings or the school rating on Great schools is beyond words. I've also been looking at Orange Park and see that area has some really good school ratings but then do feedback on the complex and it sucks.

Does anybody know an area in Jacksonville or Orange Park or any other area that has good schools and the apartments have good feedback. I know you can't have all good feedback but I don't want to hear it's a ruff area or a loud area. Rent wise will be around $1200. There is a townhouse community called Bluff House in Orange Park that looks nice. The feedback looks good at first but as you scroll through it, it goes down hill. We would love a townhouse community but want one that is taken care of, not a lot of noise issues and safe.

I would appreciate any help or feedback.

I personally would not choose to live in Orange Park unless I worked there for a number of reasons. Where will you be working?

Orange Park is like any other suburban area as far as safety. Schools in Clay County are rated better than Duval County( Jacksonville).. School districts are based on County in Florida.

As ^^^ alluded to above living in Orange Park and having to commute into Downtown Jacksonville or the Southside of Jacksonville would get you into some of the worst commutes in Jacksonville and state of Florida.

If you can come see some of the places for yourself before deciding on an apartment. The online and brochures make everywhere look great. The reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt as well, people will broadcast the negatives more than the positives.

Jacksonville is very spread out so be prepared to drive to do things.

What part of PA are you coming from? If your are coming from Philadelphia or Pittsburgh its much different than coming from some small coal mining town in the mountains.

Thank you both for replying. My husband will be commuting to the Home Depot SDC Center. Not sure what the address is. We live in the Poconos right now but originally from NY. Driving here is all I do. Cannot walk to anything so that is not a problem and I agree that we should check out a few places before making the actual move. Maybe renting a house instead would be better. We are coming from a 2500 square foot home so getting used to an apartment will take time but then again it's only temporary.

Thank you for your responses.

I think that is on the Northside of Jacksonville near the Airport. Look into Nassau County as well... easier commute. However Orange Park and Middleburg would not be TOO bad.

Nassau county would be Yulee, Callahan, Fernandina Beach

Yeah, if it's north I would consider Nassau as well. I would steer clear of Duval schools in the north end of town.

We spent almost a week here checking out apt. complexes, both in OP and in the Baymeadows/Southside area. We chose a complex just north of the Avenues Mall and have been there since Jan. 2009. But, if he is going to be working out by the airport, don't even think of getting someplace where we are........way to far to drive and the traffic would be miserable. I'm retired, so don't have to worry about distance/traffic anymore, but my wife has got lucky twice in obtaining jobs just 7 miles from our apartment.

Good Luck in your search.
