Just moved into Nocatee a couple of weeks ago. One thing I noticed right away is that the water is very hard. Looking for recommendations for water softener and co to do the installation. I have a quote from Culligan but it seems really high. Any other recommendations?

Also looking for a good lawn service to take care of mowing, edging, weed and pest control, etc.

Any recommendations appreciated - thanks!!!!

We've been happy with Affordable Water (Jacksonville). If I recall correctly, it was $1,100 all in which includes a carbon filter to get rid of the chlorine smell and other chemicals (carbon filter needs to be replaced every 2 years $180).

I fill the salt tank myself and also clean the softner every 6 months with a product called Softnermate. Affordable Water (AW) charges $8 per bag and $15 per cleaning (every 6 months). Morton's Solar Salt (powder blue 40lb bag), which AW uses, is $4.78 at Sam's Club. The cleaning solvent, Softnermate (which again is used by AW), can be found on Amazon for $14 and the container will easily last 5 years.

We went with the Ultimate II. Seems to be the popular choice.
