Nice thing I think about living in North Florida is you can always take a long weekend trip down further south to catch some warmer weather if it gets chilly in Jax.

At south part about 3 months (in Winter) when you don't need AC. At Jacksonville about 6 month.

Please correct if I wrong.
Yes this is correct.

So, then jacksonville area has a better climate. You have 6 month of perfect weather when it is neither too cold or too hot.
Seems like south florida is always hot.

haha well it depends on your definition. We probably spend about 6 weeks cumulatively in sub 60 degrees, which to me is too cold.

Yes it's cooler yes there is less humidity. I think you have to live in SoFL to be able to feel the difference.

Humidity in SoFL during the summer is like walking into a steam room when you open your front door. For about five months.

Then you get one or two days in the 60s during the winter. You turn your heat on one night a year.

Jacksonville is much colder, less humid. Big difference. BIG difference. Huge.

6 weeks 69 degrees? What about the rest of the winter? Below 60? Or above?

For me, not hot when you can sleep at night with open windows without AC running. Day can be hot. At night should be between 55F and 68F. How many months like this in Jacksonville?

Don't know about sleeping with windows open most anywhere today. Kind of scary. Now, if you are living somewhere out in the Boonies in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho or Colorado, open windows all night can be pretty safe. Here, like other big city areas, not really recommended.

If I'm living somewhere that sleeping with an open window bears a realistic danger I'm moving.

Just saying that Jacksonville isn't the safest city in the country. We can have our windows open during the day, but never at night. Have never had windows open at night, no matter where I've lived, not just here.

But, then again, at our age (late 60's) we are always thinking about safety.

We're the same age; I've never lived anywhere I didn't have the windows open at night. I virtually never think about safety. I wouldn't live the way you do, I'd move.
