Default Moving from Michigan to Jacksonville Florida

Hi,

I'm looking to move from a suburb of detroit to Jacksonville, Florida. I have been looking at different jobs and apartments. I am currently a loan officer with Quicken Loans and was wondering if anyone knew of a company like Quicken Loans down in Jacksonville that is hiring (Quicken Loans is #2 on fortune's best places to work for)? Thank you.

You should check some of the websites to see what openings there are. JaxJobs, Craigslist, CareerBuilders all have a lot of Jacksonville jobs.

Thank you .. .I looked in JaxJobs and there is alot of opportunity on there. Where would you suggest living. I know bugs are a big issue in the south and on many apartment reviews I've noticed that there are roach issues. Are there certain areas that have these problems or is there an area where they are limited? Thank you.

it all depends on the community you live in, where I live just about everyone maintains a strict pest control regimen and we really don't have a bug issue, that doesn't mean that you won't see any bugs, it is just not a big to do here. if you live in an area where people are a bit more relaxed regarding their property upkeep you could see more in the way of pests. ( both animal and human) It all has to do with where you decide to locate.
That said, it is FLA and there are bugs and critters around and it is just one of the many things that you'll find that is different here than where you're coming from, if bugs and critters are not your thing then that is something you should factor into your decision to move

I don't mind seeing bugs. . .I just do not want them inside of my apartment. Do you have any recommendations on apartments that do not have a pest problem?

there is no way of knowing until you live there, cleanliness and upkeep are tell tales signs, if you look at an apartment and notice that the place is not well maintained I would view that as a warning. on the flip side if a place is meticulously maintained then you would have less to worry about, but then again if you have a neighbor who isn't doing their part to keep their home clean and maintained they could be harboring habitats for bugs and there will be little that you can do about it.
Living in communal style apartments is always a crap shoot, good luck
