I am currently living in Melbourne, FL approximately 3 hours away from UNF and UF. I can't decide between UNF or UF. My major will be Psychology. I will be a transfer with an A.A. degree. I need some serious opinions and thoughts of each college please...

If you are looking purely in terms of academic quality or reputation (as in, you may be thinking of applying to graduate schools or law school or the like), I would strongly suggest UF. UF is a much larger research institution and has many more opportunities in terms of course offerings and faculty. I myself am a college professor (at a small college in St. Augustine), and I do from time to time have students transfer to one or the other. In my field of academics, I would always prefer a student go to UF as opposed to UNF (unless there are non-academic/career considerations in play).

Nothing against UNF; but having gotten my undergrad degree from UF I would say it was one of those life experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything! Gainesville is great, but be sure to concentrate on academics as there are a lot of distractions that will quickly end the fun if you forget the main reason you are there in the first place!

Cheers! M2
