We're in the process of moving from Connecticut to the greater Jacksonville area. I'm 53 and my wife is 54. I'll be retired and my wife is a teacher. We're looking at a house in St Johns Golf and Country Club. Can anyone tell about this place? Thanks

St. JGCC has nice houses, nice amenities, and a nice location- close to the beach and close to shopping.

Great Golf Course, Great Subdivision. The only thing in your situation is the place is loaded with families with young children. I don't know if that would bother you or not being retired.

I don't know what the costs are at the St Johns club, but if you are concerned about what was said about too many kids you could consider coming to PVB and looking at the 2 sawgrass communities, they can be a bit more expensive but the people are a bit older and while there are kids here they don't seem to be over running the place. The TPC side is large with a wide variety of home styles and prices, I've seen small homes in there priced as low as 289k, granted they are older and smaller than a lot of the other homes but these homes dispel the myth that PVB is an expensive place to live

We moved here about one year ago. The neighbors are very friendly and the golf course is great. As the other poster said, there are lots of families with children, but I see a mix of retired as well. This may seem odd, but one of the big reasons we picked SJG&CC with all the options out there is that it has gas and my husband hates cooking on an electric stove.
![]() The one drawback for me is although you can do your grocery shopping and everyday shopping in the area you do have to travel up to Jacksonville for any "big box" shopping such as Home Depot, Taget, etc. But it is not enough of an inconvenience to overshadow how much we like the community. Good luck! Laura |

Nice area in a growing area. I think traffic getting onto 1-95 in the morning is pretty bad.

The golfcourse, pool, and clubhouse are beautiful. However, we found the area to be full of kids...lots of young ones! We also noticed the road noise from I-95 in alot of the streets there. They also have a large cell tower that can be quite an eye sore. But overall it is a great neighborhood and close to the I-95 entrance.

Although it is a big neighborhood, I have 2 current neighbors who've told me they moved out because of the "swingers" LOL
