Recommendations for onsite computer repair?
Looking for a good computer repair person to come to our house to diagnose and fix two desktops. In the past I've used the Geek Squad, but wasn't pleased (work-wise and price-wise), so I'm a little gun-shy about just flipping through the yellow pages.
Recommendations for the Orange Park/Fleming Island area?

I repair computers (laptops, desktops, servers, and anything in between) during my days off from my "real" computer job. You are more than welcome to PM me. I am in Middleburg and can repair on site or take it with me, its up to you. I have references if needed.

I just finished wiping out my Windows PC, installing a new hard drive, putting 2-gigs of Ram, re-installing all the drivers, and all the software I need for work. Took me a total of 6 hours here and there. The software installs are so slow and downloading stuff over a wireless is a lot slower than hardwired. I'm never doing that again ?!
At least not for another year, which I notice, is how long a typical Windows machine lasts before it slows down and you have to clean up all the crap that's built up in it.
My old Mac Powerbook is running as smooth and as fast as it did when I bought it 3 years ago. I hardly ever turn if off. Just let it go to sleep mode. It's so reliable, I can't even justify buying a new one just yet.

Hi Karla. Hope everything's going well. I haven't checked city-data in quite awhile. It's been blocked at our office.
That's funny. About you dragging the "you know who" around to help with your fundraiser. At the very least, he should get some new golf slubs out of this.
What's the fundraiser all about? I'm sure you've posted it somewhere in the forum. I just haven't had time to catch up.

what seems to be the problem that warrants the need to pay for computer repair?
geek squad and firedog should not be on anyone's list of people to call for service, not even the last resort. Sorry you've already wasted money on GS, hopefully they didn't steal your files already.
Asked any relative or friend's kids for advise?? the great interweb??

I've tried to help them and may have succeded in at least one case. The biggest problem is that I'm still over 500 miles away. I'm sure that "you know who" (whoever that might be ) will have everything straightened out long before I can get down there.
