Default St. Johns Pointe or Lighthouse at Fleming Island??

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge on these 2 apartment communities? We are relocating to Jacksonville from Las Vegas this summer. Hubby will be working at the Orange park kennel club. We like the idea of St Johns Pointe being right next to his work...but just want to make sure its a safe complex. And its also well within our budget -so much cheaper than what we're paying now. Lighthouse looks really, really, nice...but costs more. So we're wondering if it would be better -and what about the schools? Mountclar is the one for St Johns, not sure what the one for Lighhouse is.

So if anyone can shed some light on these I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

In my opinion I would chose Lighthouse at Fleming Island
It is a much nicer location also I have heard good things about the schools in FI. There are quite a few motels right around the kennel club.
I presume he will be in the new card room that just opened.
Another area to consider would be Julington creek. I know there are quite a few folks that work there that live in JC.
If there was any chance he would be going to the "best bet" at the St Johns track this would put you right between them both.

What grade level are your kids in ? If it is elementary or middle, you could also look at the 9A/Baymeadow area the schools are "A" schools with a new high school being built within 2 years. This area is 23 mins from the OP Kennel Club & 8 miles to the "bestbet"

I take it that's bad? lol And yes, he will be working in the new card room at Orange park. Our son will be going into the 4th grade next year. Ideally, we're looking to rent in an area that we can eventually buy a home & our son wouldn't have to switch schools - or if he'll be going to middle school by the time we buy he would be going to the same school as his classmates.

I'll have to have him check out Julington Creek..
thanks!

I hate to disagree with Karla as she is the "poster supreme" here, but I have to say that the zip code 32256 is totally unacceptable for public-elementary, middle and high school. Private school is required. It's just my opinion Karla! *runs*

It is ok to disagree with me thats what makes life interesting. I may have to even share some of my "supreme reps" with you
the middle & elementary school I am talking about are twin lakes they have been A schools for over 5 years, I am involved with a program there and am very impressed with the level of teaching. They were magnet schools for years till the area population increased
the folks at those schools as well as those living in the area have high hopes that the new HS being built will be of the same quality.

The Lighthouse is a nice apt. complex, and all of the schools there (esp. Thunderbolt Elem. and Fleming Island High) are excellent schools. All shopping, dining, etc. is close by.

I don't know about the other place, but you can't go wrong with Lighthouse.
