My husband is currently considering houses close to the New Berlin Elementary. I see that one can get a much bigger house for cheaper there in contrast to properties in Chets Creek attendance zone, for example. I'm afraid I'd feel trapped up north. Does anyone live or lived in that area? What are your thoughts?

Why aren't you asking a realtor these questions, vs nameless, faceless people who have no vested interest in your happiness?

Actually, there are a lot of good people that frequent this forum and give solid advice. Also, you seem to presume that the OP hasn't asked a real estate pro their opinion. It never hurts to get info from different sources.

You would still be relatively close enough to Nassau County, Atlantic Beach and, of course, downtown. I don't know that specific area or neighborhood but just about everyone in/around Jacksonville is a bit of a drive so as long as you're good with the house, neighborhood, school district, commute, etc. I think it would be fine in terms of location.
