Can anyone recommend a great tapas place? Also looking for yummy, authentic Vietnamese food. Anyone have recommendations?

Saigon Times on Cassatt Ave, right off the 10 freeway. Closed on Weds.

Also for Vietnamese on the East side of the River:

A good hole in the wall place is: Pho Cali
5624 Cagle Rd. (off of Exit 345 from I-95)
904-730-7333

Good menu at this place. Cheap. Good food. Blah blah blah.

Also, a nicer vietnamese restaurant with lower quality food and a less extensive menu is:

Saigon Bistro
3546 Saint Johns Bluff Rd.

Also, I have heard that there is a little vietnamese enclave in Orlando that will probably give you some good food as well.

As for Tapas it looks like The Grotto in San Marco has a nice tapas menu. And maybe Colombia restaurant in St. Augustine (this is a chain).

Default Grotto

I have never been to the Grotto, but have always wanted to.

I read in the Times-Union today that they have a beer tasting every first Tuesday of the month. I may catch that on of these months. My husband loves to try different beers.

That would be Colonial Dr in Orlando, about a mile East of I-4 is where it all begins.

That would be off University Blvd, in the Ramada Inn.

Then, I will have to convince him to go next month. I would hate to wait to go and then have them cancel it.

Go onto the Grotto's website and sign up for their email list and you will be kept up to do date on all of their events. They send out weekly emails with all the details. They have some big time wine tastings coming up with people bringing their wines to sample from vineyards as far away as South Africa. I see lots of older couples (30's to 50's) at these tastings, so I recommend their weekly wine tastings as well for you and your husband.

The Grotto is by far one of the nicest, most cultured restaurants in Jacksonville.

Thanks for the email tip. I didn't know they did that.
