Having IPL done this week...has anyone ever had this done? (Jacksonville: maintenance, work)

I'm having an IPL - Intese Pulsed Light - procedure done on my face this week for broken capillaries on my nose. I was just curious if anyone has had this done, so they can let me know what to expect?
I'm just a little nervous about the non-sun exposure. Does anyone know how long I have to stay out of the sun or wear sunscreen until I won't risk hyperpigmentation? I love the outdoors, so this is very tough for me. Any input, advice or stories would be greatly appreciated!

I have had this done for broken capillaries and chronic redness on my face. I have been very pleased by the results. I only had one treatment but may get another. I hade it done at Allure Cosmetics in Orange Park. My doctor told me it often takes more than one treatment depending on the extent of the problem. Right after the treatment you will probably have some sensitivity and possibly some strange sort of scabbing. I didn't have anything very noticable. Ask your doctor for how long to stay out of the sun. I was particularly careful for a month. I still wear sunscreen and a hat if I am out in direct sun and I am three months post procedure. The actual procedure is a bit uncomfortable but not really painful. Just a slight stinging sensation. Good luck!

I have recently had it done by Leslie at First Coast Plastic Surgery in Mandarin. She is an RN. I thought it would be out of range for me financially and would take many treatments. Instead it was very reasonable and I only needed two. My only regret is that I didn't have it done sooner, as the red mask-like appearance across my nose area made me self-conscious.... now I want to have it done on my legs

I didn't have any issues post-treatment. I just stayed out of the sun that day, used the little cold compress on the way home. And although she told me that the veins would take a few days to absorb, I noticed a complete change almost immediately. I didn't bother staying out of the sun after that first day, but I work inside and wear sunscreen daily.

Shayna is the aesthetician that I have been going to for microderm, etc. and she is great. Really loves her work and it shows. Oh for the funds to be higher maintenance!

A friend of mine had some work done at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery she was very pleased
not to mention the offices are really beautiful.
My vet has had the photo facial procedures for some sun damage and has never had a problem.

Thanks for all the feeback and advice everyone! I was very nervous yesterday, but it's done and I'm very pleased with the results! It felt like having a small, hot rubberband pop on your face. I have a little scabbing and blistering, but I've already noticed that the darker ones are starting to dissappear! I too wish I had done this sooner!

So, I went back for another round last week. They are almost gone! It's amazing! I totally reccomend Jacksonville Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery by Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery for this procedure!
