My PM and I met with a civil engineer today and he was told by the city that if the info for the credit is not submitted by July 1 because information is not available, the city will issue the credit retroactively. Our development was not issued a permit by SJWMD, so if we want to apply for the credit, it will cost several thousand dollars- probably not worth it to us, as we have no impermeable areas except sidewalks.
Last night at the Jacksonville Journey hearing, I spoke to one of the folks who work in the neighborhood services department and complained that they could send e-mails to HOAs for every little thing- seven in the past month- but they haven't sent a thing about the stormwater fee as it applied to HOAs.
Just read today's e-mail and they have sent us an e-mail with additional info for HOAs. I have only looked at the SJWMD spreadsheets- but it looks as though they are trying to be responsive. Here is the link they included in the e-mail:
Certified Stormwater Pond Credit Details
If you'd like a copy of their e-mail, DM me and I get it to you.

Talks of another JEA rate increase this morning.
seriously enough of this crap, I'll vote for anyone that can bring our gas price down to sub $2/gallon without taxing everyone to death.

Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see gas prices go down again...Peak Oil and all that...we're done for!

I don't know that I am even against the fees as much as the irresponsible way in which they have been implemented.

Honestly, I dont know why everyone doesnt get together & just refuse to pay the stupid thing. What are they gonna do, put all Jax residents in jail? I dont think so. Fine us all?? OK, we wont be paying that either.
You dont see real action usually unless drastic measures are taken. Paying & then complaining sure wont do it.

I don't know about anyone else but I heard that they will put a lien on your house you don't pay, and I sure can't afford that much less this $60... that's why I will pay, and find out why I have to pay the waste part $30.00 and I am single, and don't use as much waste as the neighbor across the street, husband, wife and three kids??? It bites!!!
I do agree with ya bit Kerry, and would do that if I didn't own my house. I would rather pay and not have it on my credit, and complain before and after!

That's why we need the sticker program for our garbage. You should be rewarded for sending less waste to the landfill. Maybe they'll incorporate one in the future, but why they didn't roll one out now, I don't know (except of course that they slapped this together so quickly ).
I don't want fines or liens hanging over me, so I will pay it. I DO want to amend it though, and I still haven't received the forms they said they'd send.

I know of one city that sells special large garbage bags at all the grocery stores. The cost covers the charge for pick up. Then you only pay for the bags that you use.

Interesting....that way they could make the bags biodegradable too - take care of multiple issues at once.
