Eloping is a great idea ...
My parents eloped, I never really got the real reason from them, but my mom's dad was a minister, and I always figured that had something to do with it. They never had any regrets whatsoever, and what a savings!

I certainly don't feel any "less married" for it.

We did it for a number of reasons and initially started planning a "real" wedding, but it just got too complicated and we seemed to be planning it for all the wrong reasons. He convinced me to elope, and though I had a bit of hesitation, once we in our actual ceremony (non-denominational minister, photographer and 1 old hippe, the lady that owned the land ), I knew this was the right decision.

Not everyone was thrilled with our choice, but they're over it and I have a good memory of that day rather than a memory of the compromises I would have had to make for the sake of everyone else .

I guess you could say we "eloped"
We got off the cruise ship in the Grand Caymans with 2 of the bartenders and met the official on the dock and went tot he beach and got married

Our families knew were were getting married yeah they were a little miffed but hey I couldn't of handled the whole big wedding thing knowing my parents who are deceased wouldn't be there
Not to mention after 20 years of DJing weddings and seeing very few of the brides really remembering the day because of so much going on the beach was fine for me

I think we are getting married Saturday evening on PVB somewhere..the notary told me it was the beach entrance past Micklers Landing!!

I'm excited to elope but still want a beach wedding next year. I have my heart set on a laid back barefeet, tiki torch, beach music wedding. Plus my fiance is an only child and I'm the last of 5 daughters so I think our families would be devestated if we didn't have a real ceremony. But for now I'm happy with just eloping!
