What happens when that state decides they need their power due to their own growth? If that is our solution, then I hope it is not going to be for long We really should try to whole growing up thing a little more. We cannot be in denial with less than enough power, (and on COAL for that matter!), and our little 4 lane "major" roads.

power is not a natural resource like water, and not subject to the same kind of rules and regs.
power is usually generated by private companies for profit, more than likely a long term agreement would be reached and your concerns while valid would not come into play

Default Relief

I am new to town and have always had average billing where i am from. I called JEA and they offer it too. I have to wait till i'm signed up for service with them for 7 months. That's where you just pay a fairly constant average. Has anyone tried that? Does it seem to help ease the strain?

I've used it for my natural gas heat in NJ, it helps to level the peaks of winter billing and the lows of summer minimal usage. you get an idea of what to budget on a monthly basis.

I know this thread is a few yrs old but i wanted to add my 2 cents. Utility companies like JEA are the scum of the earth. When the time comes for them to meet their maker they are all going to be sent directly to hell with no mercy. So it is written & so it shall be done. I DONT trust any utility company cause they are all greedy crooks.
