I am interested in mental health jobs or anything in social services. I recently graduated with an AA in psychology; 2012 is my target for continuing my pursuit of a higher education; that is my BSc and Masters majoring in psychology of course. Do you guys have any insight on what type of jobs that might currently be options for me? I was thinking about mental health technician or some entry level position; what do you guys think?

I dont live in Jax but was curious to see so many posters who lived in Raleigh and who are moving or have moved to Jax. I live in South FL but want to move out of state and am looking into Chapel Hill. It would seem to me that there is more to do up there than down here, especially in north FL. Im curious why the change of scenery (considering NC is much more scenic, in my opinion).

Oh and I have thought about moving to north FL (Jax to be specific) since I have family near there but have applied to jobs that got filled before I had a chance to even be considered. I would also recommend looking into Mayo Clinic (which I applied to) and there does seem to be lots of local hospitals....not sure if Shands Healthcare would be convenient but I know they have a location in Jax (which I also applied to as well). I do agree that the idea of driving hours to the beach versus minutes could be a deal breaker for some but and wonder if I can deal with that myself. The problem for me is FL is so flat....would like the idea of being able to drive out to the mountains....choices, choices.
