Last night I was goign to the airport to pick up my husband and realized I was going to be very early so I popped into the market place
It was easy to get to. Just take the Duval rd exit right before the one for the airport.
They seem to have a nice variety of stores. beats waiting in the courtsey lot or waiting in the terminal for an hour or more.
lol I may have to check it out again when I take my husband back to the airport on Monday

River City Market Place
It's on Main Street and Airport Center. It is new and up and coming. It is the first "strip mall" in that area (OceanWay) since 1960.

RiverCity MarketPlace
I think Rivercity Marketplace is great.
I've lived on the northside for years and have always had to travel to the southside or orangepark to do anything. Not to mention the job opportunities its brought.
I work at the Panera Bread over there, and we have lines out the door everyday. The movie theatre isnt that bad either.
Once it finally gets done with the townhomes, and hotels, its deffinately going to bring more attraction to the northside. Not only from jacksonville residents but south georgia, and international travelers getting off at the Airport.

River City Marketplace??
I'm thinking of moving to Jax in the near future was looking at homes off 9A and Alta Drive. Is the River City Marketplace close to that? And does anyone know anything about the future growth for that area? Is it up and coming?

River City Marketplace would be close enough to you if you lived on Alta - it's just a little further north and west of Alta.
The Northside is an area of growth - there is plenty of land there for the developers to build new neighborhoods on.
I don't know if I would consider it "up and coming", but it is "developing". It will be more dense, more people will be living there, more commercial development will be built to serve the new communities.
