Do you ever realize that you may be HURTING people's feelings? Go easy. You want people to GET your point without LOSING your respect. Someone being different than you does not make you superior to them (i.e. calling them wacky).

Although I wish that it would take hold here, for my own sake, I fear not. This has alot to do with our Presidential election as well. Even if I liked McCain, he could never get my vote. You have to look at the reality that alot of our supreme court justices are reaching the end of their ropes. The one thing that has the power to out-last a bad president, are his supreme court picks. I am under the impression that McCain's picks would extend the the Bush/Right-Wing dynasty. I don't want more picks like Roberts & Alito. But that's neither here nor there, just something to think about.

But no, not until people get the balls to stand up for themselves will this ever get done. I don't even see why this needs to be voted on anyway. The majority should NEVER decide the fate of the minority. That can allow for prejudice to live on forever. It takes a long time for attitudes to change.

I have no problem with gay people living how they want to, it's really none of my business. I do have an issue when they try to gain government's and by extension my approval for their form of living. If wacky was too strong of a word please accept my sincere apologies

No matter how upset I want to be with you, you always make me laugh at the end . I totally respect your point though. There are things that, I, as a gay person find apalling... so I am not unfamiliar with that feeling.

I look at it this way... I will not let my personal bias affect someone else's quality of life, as long as their preference does not harm me directly. And even then, I must acknowledge that I may still be wrong.

We already know that we'll never find common ground on the "GAYZ" issue, so I'll let that be. I think we have a fundamental opposition to each other's opinion, and I'm sure we can both live just fine knowing that

Yes indeed. I was just saying that I didn't find it very fair (I do live in the real world). I know I should have elaborated on what I mean, but I know it can VERY EASILY segway into things not related to this discussion. But umm... don't take the statement at face value. Very true. There are a lot of people that don't care to think about the difference between the two. Hopefully, this will not spark something different... But women and Blacks (as well most other races), had to deal with these same issues. Where would we be today if we denied them?

Ooooo.... please don't bring that up!? That can turn all types of sour, and that's not what this discussion is about. I kind of beat around that bush in my post too, though. Even though some don't want to admit it, the issues are more similar than they are different. Ask someone who falls into two or more of those categories. No need to look around, here I am! We should start another thread about that one to keep it fair.

just because I don't care for your lifestyle doesn't mean I couldn't like you, the point is what you do in your home should have no bearing on anything.
The problem is that so many so called radical or activist types are way too in your face with their lifestyle. Just like you really wouldn't care to see a middle aged straight couple going at it in public, I don't think some acts these in your face types do is reasonable to anyone.

A long time ago I had an argument with someone over GAY day at disney, the gist of the argument was saying that I had no problem with gay people having a good time there but I did not like the physical contact many of the gay people were engaging in, I think I proved my point when I said it is just as revolting to me if 2 gays were swapping spit in public as it would be if hetros were doing the same thing, it is inappropriate behavoir in a public place, especially at a place like WDW that is geared towards childeren, regardless of sexual orientation.

I am not into forcing my views onto anyone, I am a big believer in live and let live, but I don't like things being forced down my throat either.

So if you're not forcing your views on anyone, Why are you so against gay marriage ? If a man/man or women/women get married, how does that effect YOU ?
