Hi all! We need a nice clean hotel or motel in St. Augustine area for about a week. Any recommendations? Thanks to all.

depends what you plan to be doing..... if you plan to do a lot of the beach I would recommend staying over on the island, if you plan to the historic thing all day I would stay w/in walking distance of downtown, golfing stay near WGV.

I tend to agree. The Wold Golf Village is a good 11 or 12 miles away from St. Augustine proper (historic downtown), and you'd most likely be driving to and from via I95, so it would have a very "removed" feeling from St. Augustine.

Casa Monica is in an ideal location, just off the square in the historic district. It's a beautiful but pricey hotel (you didn't mention budget ).

You could also google B&Bs in St. Augustine, there are many to choose from and they are also in the historic district. The nice thing about staying right in the historic district is that you can ditch the car and walk to sights, restaurants, etc., and use the trolley to get around. You'd really only need to car to get to the beach (the beach is out on the barrier island).
