anniversary dinner?
I want to go out for a nice child free dinner on saturday night for our 5th wedding anniversary. We live in St Augustine but will proabably drive up to jax that night. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

1171 on Edgewood in Murray Hill is quite good. Bistro Aix is always nice. I like BB's in San Marco. Oh, and Sonny's BBQ...can't beat the AYCE rib night!

If you aren't looking to drive all the way into downtown, there are a couple of nice restaurants in Julington Creek area in Shops of Bartram Walk...Blackstone Grille and Heirloom's Bistro. If you like Thai, Galangal, just north of Palencia on US1 is nice too.
All depends on how far you want to drive and what you are looking for.

You guys are going to have them driving forever on their anniversary. Keep it simple.....drive up A1A, have a nice anniversary dinner at Dwights Bistro on Penman Road next to the Cinotti's Bakery. After that, go to 1st Street and go to the Casa Marina Martini Bar, which is up on the roof overlooking the ocean.
If you're planning on staying the night, the rooms are very cozy and romantic at the Casa Marina.
Jacksonville is a VERY hard place to get around right now with all the road construction for anyone who isn't very familiar with the area. Heck, some roads change nightly as it is.
It'll be great when they get most of it done, but right now it's a nightmare to go from one side of town to the other.

Since you're in St Augustine, the brand new 500 South Restaurant at the Renaissance in WGV. Cocktails at the Caddy Shack after dinner. Happy anniversary!

ShakenStirred has a good point...lots of great restaurants to choose from in St. Augustine. No reason to really drive all the way up to Jacksonville unless you are simply looking for a chance in scenery.

we ended up not going to jax as planned but we ate at "purple olive" in St Augustine beach. It was FABULOUS. I highly highly recommend it.
