I know 2 people who are working there. One in derivatives and one in risk control or something?

That sounds right, at least from the postings they have out there. Any chance at finding out how their benefits are there?

I would imagine pretty decent, but I'll see what I can do.

With all the qualified people in Florida that are out of work, I dont see anything good about bringing workers from other states to take our jobs.

I understand your point. In this situation they are expected to bring down only 50 out of the 1000 stated to have here over their 3-4 year time frame.

It could be worse.

Seeker is correct - DB is only planning on hiring about 50 -100 from NY/NJ (I'm hoping I would be one of them - looking to get out of NY) and they are planning on hiring about 900 ppl from Jacksonville area in the next 2 yrs. They are looking for most Operational positions in fixed income, equities, Prime Brokerage.....mostly middle office roles. So there'll def be many oportunities for ppl in Jax. From what I heard the starting sal is in the high 40's with excellent benefits. DB is pretty much a premier investment bank that wasn't hurt as much by this subprime mess.

Are you employed by them in NY?

Are you moving down to Jax from NY or did u just get a job with DB?
I am actually a Hire from outside the US from Canada. I am a special case, which is why i avoided the interviewing process altogether. I already knew the job itself and will most likely be down there to train.
