Mainly because of good hot weather and for a change(have been here in Northwest for over 6 years) I am considering Dallas, Austin and Jax for now because of nice weather, low real estate. i have around 10 yrs exp in .NET and j2EE mostly in development experience.
Do you guys think i can find something from here, or I should make a trip over there? Any place to look for company information in these areas? Thanks, |

Hey Priceline,
I don't know exactly what part of the Northwest you're in, but I'm pretty sure that Jacksonville isn't your best option. Take a look at the attached link, to another thread about Portland OR, vs Jax and Florida in general. If you can handle the heat in Austin, it's got to be your best option. ANYBODY ever live in BOTH PDX and Jacksonville, FL??? |

Here's my advice to Priceline. If as you say you are looking for good hot weather and lots of sunlight you are on the right track with Dallas, Austin or Jax. Definitely not Portland. Check out the attached link and you'll see why. Otherwise it's a fine city.

There are ways to get a local address through postal shops though, so that's not too hard. Keep in mind too that employers in Jax tend to take their time in the hiring process - they are in no hurry . So don't be dismayed if you don't receive quick responses.
