Talking IMAX coming to Regency & Orange Park AMC

Looks like we will finally get not one, but two IMAX screens here in town. Jacksonville was chosen to receive 2 of the 100 IMAX screens in a partnership between IMAX and AMC.

That is so awesome! I can't wait until I don't have to drive down to St. Augustine anymore to see IMAX movies.

That's great news for Regency Mall.

As I've mentioned before, that's the theater I usually go to and I've never had a problem there. Maybe more people will give it a try now that there will be an IMAX there.

I hope they play U2 3D there after they open .

OMG.. Travelingfood.... people are dying now at AMC..... I just love it when people are just so dramatic.

I think this a great news and I don't think anyone is risky there lives at these locations more than at any other theater in Jacksonville.

I see movies at AMC Regency almost every Sat/Sun and I've never had or seen ANY problems there. I usually go between noon and 6pm. If you go after 6pm or dark your going to have more teenagers, but thats the way it is at any theater in the country.

By the way if you go to AMC Regency on Sat/Sun mornings before noon.
All movies are only $5.00. Cant beat that... besides AMC theaters are very nice. I've always like AMC Regency over Tinseltown anyday.

I was just a AMC Regency today(Sunday) to see the new batman movie
The Dark Night. I made it back in one piece and didn't risk my life even once.

The movie was great and Heath Ledger peformance as the Joker teriffic. to bad he died so young.

I took that "risking lives" comment to mean that the traffic in those areas is very congested. But then, I usually don't "read" posts in the same way others do.

Honestly, I do not care to drive past those two particular malls because of the traffic.

Default Say what you want -- I am not going back.

I read the debate in this forum and thought "Maybe I have been to harsh on Regency" and I drove over to see the Dark Knight. . .

I was there this last weekend & was hit by a car as I crossed in the cross-walk to the parking lot. The theater people did nothing. All the people standing n line for tickets just turned the other way as I was laying on the ground.
