A friend and I were talking about movies and how they are so expensive these days. Its ridiculous as to how much you can spend at a movie theatre these days. I sympathize for families these days. Another thing was that we missed the old days of the drive-in movies. Do any of you remember that? Those were great. So we got to thinking, what if there was a modern style drive-in theatre that also had a movie screen inside on the same premises but they both offered high quality viewing but not all the glitz and glamour that theatres have these days and at the same time affordable. (ie...$3-$5 for a movie ticket) plus there was a matinee day...you remember...the $1 dollar days? Would you go to something like this and if so, why?

We used to have these things, but they've mostly faded away.

With a drive-in, remember we need air-conditioning for a good chunk of the year here. Even at night, it's in the 80's this time of the year.

Matinees are the way to go. And some things you just can't put a price on, like watching Pierce Bronson singing a solo while wearing a polyester suit. *Momma Mia!* lol It's disturbing, but funny, all at the same time.

There is a drive in theater somewhere on the westside, dont know if it is still open though, it was somewhere near blanding or collins if I remember correctly, but here in Atlanta there is a large drive in theater, and pretty old, too, and it is $7 a ticket, so $3-5 seems difficult even for drive ins.

The drive-in theater you're talking about is the Playtime Drive-In, on Blanding between 103rd and Collins. It closed in May, and was the only remaining drive-in movie theater in Jacksonville.
