Fruit Cove area - Anyone live there? What's it like? (Jacksonville: renting, college)

A close friend of mine is moving up to the Fruit Cove area from Miami. She is renting a bedroom from another close friend and is looking to get a job on a golf course as a bartender (she is a bartender by trade). Will she need a car if she wants to do anything? Are there young people (mid 20's) up there for her to befriend? How are the wages up there? I want to help her out as much as I can.

She will absolutely need a good running car, Fruit Cove is still fairly rural, though the developers have moved in on the area and have been building developments. She'll be driving good distances to get to most things.

I don't know how many 20 year olds she'll find in Fruit Cove, but I would not expect too many, it's more of a young family area. She can find some 20-somethings to the south of her in St. Augustine (Flagler College), but she'll find a larger group of them to the north of her in Jacksonville. To go out and mingle, she'll be driving quite a ways no matter which direction she goes.

It's a pretty area though and she might find work at a nearby golf course, it's not far from The World Golf Village.

Thanks. She doesn't have a car anymore, so that will be an issue. I looked on Google Earth and it seems like a really beautiful area.
