Default I'm relocating to Area need some help! Jax or Gainesville Apt needed.

Hi, We're relocating to Florida we are in need of some housing, an apartment to be exact. Either Jacksonville or Gainsville or surrounding area. We are not rich so need something very resonable. There is myself , my husband and 13 yr. son. We need to find one ASAP in order to claim my job offered to me. We need only 2 br. or 1 (around 400 month) if we have to for now until we get finaces under control. Due to the recent Hurricanes here in Mississippi were I live there is nothing left no jobs no housing so, we are relocating. I love the Jacksonville area. I was offered a job at a nursing home if I could move there. So, we need housing now. Please e-mail with any information you can give to me..thanks carol

why jax or gainesville, they are an hour and a half apart, so if you live in one and commute to the other for work it is not worth it. there are plenty more jobs available in jax than gainesville, but both are feeling the crunch right now so jobs are harder to find. also jax is a little more expensive than gainesville, and apartment wise can be a lot more expensive. I don't know if there are 2 bedrooms available for 400/mo anywhere but you can find a 1 bedroom for that price along the northside and northwest jax. Is it possible for you to scrap up a little bit more per month for rentals (just wondering for your safety, that's all).

Hate to say it but you're in for sticker shock here in Jax. The housing market has dumped so many renters onto the market that the apt communities are responding to this bonanza by taking full advantage of it. Apt dwellers here don't call them apts, they call them their "estates" since you feel like you are paying for an estate!

I just got my first utility bill today through a billing service payable to my apt complex! Means: apt complexes now charge you for the water/sewer and garbage that has always forever been included in your rent on top of the exhorbent rent prices! I just want to know where in heck my water meter is? And how about that garbage "service" that requires me to take my own to the compactor? Obviously they are dividing up those bills for the whole complex amoungst the occupied units. Incredible greed.

$400? I honestly don't think there is one in this state that cheap. I hope for your sake there is and that it is safe and clean. Check with ApartmentSelector, Rent.com, and many other sites. You can do a seach in Jax for $400-$500 range on various sites and see if anything comes up. If it does go on Apartment Ratings and check it out, come back here and give us the street name and zip code and do a search on the crime stats for that area before you plunk down a deposit.

I did a lot of research before I found mine. Good luck!
