Hello Out there Jax.
Great win this weekend over Manning and the Colts.

New to the area due to Navy.

I have a 1986 Porsche 911 that mostly sits in the garage but makes the commute once in a while from PVB to NAS Jax in OP.
The car runs great but I would like to have a tune up /oil change done on it. Also the AC could use tweaking.
Could anyone out there recommend a competent Porsche mechanic other than Brumes that I could use? Not that I have anything against Brumos. I'm just looking for what the Jacksonville Porsche community has to offer.
Thanks

I know that Technical Dimensions on Beach Blvd. works on Porsches. I'm an Audi guy and took my car there once to get a quote on a timing belt service. Seth is the owner and was very nice, toured me around the facilities, etc.

surferr -

Another place to check out is Autobahn motors (St. Johns Bluff; (904) 645-5990). Gabriel, the owner/lead mechanic, was formerly with Brumo's until he opened his own shop. If you can find a better a shop at that is comparably priced, I'd love to know about them!

Gabriel keeps a ton of older German-manufactured cars running on Jacksonville's roads.

curious...how much does a decent, but drivable, mid-80's 911 cost? not a show car, but a driver that could be enjoyed!

Turbo or not? And what type of mileage are you looking for in a car that old?

I would check http://autotrader.com

I take my BMW to Autobahn. They seem to be honest, and their prices are way better then a new car lot.

Not sure
we paid $15K for it with 175K miles on it 13 years ago in San Diego
Put another $6 into brakes and computer.
Runs and drives like new though, except for the lack of AC.

Do a search on ebay for completed listings and you may get your answer.

Spent about an hour at Tech Dim and really enjoyed it. Seth seems like a stand up owner and has won my business.
