Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra beach(right next dorr to each other) are in St Johns county.
There is a wide range of prices from $220k for a 1100 sq ft patio home to manymany millions.
They have The Players Championship(TPC) at Sawgrass every year.
It is about 30 miles to downtown Jacksonville.
I don't want to sound snotty but if you ask anyone
there is that certian something about being able to say "I live in Ponte Vedra" it is even better than saying I live at the beach
I lived in Ponte Vedra Beach for 4 years.
I really like living there,
hope this helps

Well, my parents had their honeymoon at the Ponte Vedra Club in 1944. My sis and her hub had theirs at PVC in the early 1970's. I can honestly say that the area has been hyper over developed and junked up to the max. If you want really nice digs without having to fight junk development all the way to your doorstep I recommend the Amelia Island Plantation or St. Simons Island and Sea Island Georgia. One visit to any of those 3 places and you will no longer be thinking about Ponte Vedra. They are extensive, beautifully landscaped seaside estates with all the services you will want. Jacksonville and St. Johns County have not been very skillful in preserving seaside beauty with development. Look north and you will see how it is done.

North PVB
Iv'e lived here for 4 years, it's good. Starter 3/2 houses with pool are
around 300k. You can get much more for your money on the west side.
commuting might be a problem to certain areas of the city.
It's important to factor in whether you have to commute somewhere
during rush hour in this city.

hate to piggy back on your thread but we're looking into several areas of florida also someone told me about ponte vedra but it looks really expensive
we're looking to spend about 700,000 which i realize is a lot of money but we're looking for waterfront, preferably intracoastal or canal leading to intracoastal 4 bedroom 2 bath is this attainable?

I love ny: Try Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach - I think you can get something on the beach for that $. This area is already a resort island, but I believe it still has plenty of beach property for a manageable amount of change. I'm in central NJ and looking to purchase in AI/FB. Our realtor is lovely and a hard worker. Go to www.troxol (broken link) team.com - Pat Troxol - I bet she might find you something for that amount. Good luck.

sorry to bust your bubble, but 700K is looking low for many waterfront properties nowadays, maybe waterfron subdicvion or gated community lake, but not IC, oceanfront, or nice neighborhood (In city limits) st. johns riverfront. The demand for these properties is just so high, and with all the people moving here with incredible wealth the days of <$1 million is gone (sad). Try further south on in maybe st. augustine, south saint johns, or southern clay on doctor's lake (OP is a horrible commute tho!).
