I would also suggest that you look through the other threads, where others asked the same kind of questions....there's several of them and it could answer many of the questions you have and even some that you hadn't asked yet....there's a lot of advise and suggestions in them

I took a look at the 2 locations at the beaches you are considering.
Tide's Edge in south PV is farther south from JTB almost to St Aug.
Selva Tierra is a little north of Atlantic Blvd.
Both of these would probably be a 20 min maybe more drive to get to JTB.
JTB to the 95/Baymeadows area is aprox 17 miles. Depending on the time he left this could take 25 to 40 mins.
When we lived in PV just south of JTB as long as we were on JTB by 7 we avoided most of the traffic.

Another area you might want to consider is 9A/Baymeadows
The elementary & middle schools have both been "A" schools for the past 7 years. There is also a new high school they have broken ground on that is suppose to open 2010 .

This area has a wide choice of really nice neighborhoods both gated and non-gated.

This area is about 5 miles from the St Johns Towne center (super target)
and 10 mins to the Avenues mall.

I did a quick search on rentals in your price range and found houses in Deercreek Deerwood and James Island all gated as well as a few in East Hampton non gated

This might be another area for you to consider.

Yes, after researching the PVB home on another map online we realized how far south it was. Can I ask which rental search you were using?

lol I have a very unique search option
I call my friend who is a Realtor and say "tell me the rentals in such & such area in this price range"
We have been friends for years and he is use to my "unique" phone calls early in the AM
If you want I can DM you his info he can probably email you a list of rentals.

Plus we live in the 9A/Baymeadows area so I am very familiar with the neighborhoods and the schools I mentioned.
Plus as a fellow Target fan did I mention not only is there the SJTC one but also another one 10 mins in the other direction

oooohhh...DOUBLE Target! I'm sold!

I did some online searches & was able to find a few homes in the neighborhoods you mentioned. If you don't think your friend would mind, I like his info!

Yes, it's a little sad how dependent I am on Target...but hey w/3 kids under the age of 5 I need an easy quick store to get in & out of!

We are moving from York, PA. We spent a few months in Jacksonville during when my husband was doing some training for work back in 2002 & we loved it there. Now he has an opportunity in the area again & we're excited to take it!

I've read a lot of these forums and heard lots of good things about PVB.

We currently live in Celebration (the planned community about 10 min from Disney). Any chance that there is something like that in JAX?

I am a former PA'er growing up in Phila I also spent a few years in the Poconos area.
With 3 kids you may not have much time for gardening, but if it is something you enjoy wait till you see our "growing season" !!!!

I'm not familiar with all the uniqueness of Celebration, but there are many, many planned communities in NEFL, some large, some small, each with a different set of amenities, each with different types of neighborhoods, some gated and some not.
