In my opinion, the best Indian is Cilantro, off San Jose Blvd near Mandarin. They actually have dishes from multiple regions, not just Northern, which is nice.

Thai Room -- JAX Beach. A bit pricey but worth it. Eat-in or Take out. Great service, exceptionally friendly staff, awesome variety.

I second that! When i lived in Jacksonville from June 2007 to 2008, this was one of our favorite places for lunch. It's a pretty decent Vietnamese place. At our office, we'd holler: "Hey, let's go to that Pho King place for lunch!".
I'm happily back in Jersey now. Dang cold here. I gotta tell ya ...... I sure miss Jacksonville A LOT! My wife and I are planning a weekend visit to Jacksonville as soon as work lets up a bit, just to stop my whining about how good Jacksonville is.
A big Hello to Karla, Riv and the Jax CD folks. Too bad I missed the CD get together.

Dangit, Karla ...... 80s?! I could have stayed there. I'm looking out the window now and it's snowing again.
Just kidding. I'm having a nice enough time here in NJ. On vacation until the new year. I am tired of the cold weather, though. Had to clear snow and ice off my driveway and the cars a couple of times last week. Was cursing the whole time.
Gotta get back to Florida. Everytime my wife sees me surfing the web, looking for beach towns in Florida, she goes "Uh, oh.... here we go again". I was recently looking at the areas around Destin. Trying to figure out the closest airport to fly into.
Got it. Poppy-seed bagels from Jersey when we fly down again.

Cha Cha's on Baymeadows
Cha Cha's near Southside on Baymeadows has excellent value and family run. Been going there for years and never had a bad meal. Go early if you want lunch as there is usually a line. My other recommendation would be for Japanese head to Sakuras on San Jose
