Default Extend I-10 Out To Jax Beach

Extending I-10 out to jax beach would be a great idea due to the fact I-10 ends right at the pacific ocean and turns into ca. route 1 (P.C.H).The idea would be to resign J.T.B.(s.r.202)and turn it into I-10. I know I-10 ends at I-95 but sign I-10 and I-95 together from the current I-10 to where J.T.B.and I-95 meet today.I-10 would break off I-95 and then tun east on the current s.r. 202 all the way to A1A.The I-95 and s.r.202 interchange would have to be reconstructed to interstate standards, but otherwise the rest of 202 is at interstate standards.I-10 could really be called a coast to coast interstate if this is done!

so, because it ends at the pacific, it would be a great idea to spends millions to make it end right on the atlantic also?

what do you see wrong with the current highway to make this a good idea?

im gonna first defend quicksand by saying that, if I understand him correctly, the costs of his idea are not prohibitive and would mostly involve renaming certain stretches of highway (I-95 and JTB) as I-10. And the only real construction costs would be in bringing all of JTB up to interstate standards...but the plan to improve JTB has been in the works for awhile so it's certainly not a new idea at all. Essentially the only dedicated costs would be to signage and changing the maps.

That said, to be honest, the idea seems completely and utterly unnecessary for the sake of connecting both coasts with "one highway." Unless, of course, it spurs the aforementioned improvements to JTB that just keep seeming to get postponed over and over.

okay i understand a little better now what the OP meant; I jumped a little too quickly.

its still believe it to be an unnecessary expense. There's no need to rebuild the I95 JTB interchange as the OP stated.
