Any nice vegetable/fruit markets in Jax?
Just recently moved here from Cleveland OH. where can we find nice veg/fruit open markets, you know the kind that are straight from the farm and sold by farmers? We live on the Southside close to Baymeadows.

The farmers market!! For some reason not a lot of people know about it. Probably because you have to cross that imaginary line that white people in Jax aren't supposed to cross. Hold on, I'll find a map.....

Jacksonville Farmers Market
Just a mile west of Downtown on Beaver Street. It's in an industrial district by the RR tracks. Easy access from 95. It's actually a shame they don't have better signage.

Joe's right (although he's cordially invited to drop that "white people" thing, as it was completely unnecessary and not relevant to the question at hand). The Farmer's Market on Beaver is the best place to go for fresh produce, bar none.

I love the farmer's market. But, if you don't want to drive all the way over there, the flea market on Beach has a decent selection of produce (nowhere near as good as the farmer's market, but it works)

There is a Flea Market on Beach Boulevard between Cortez and Anniston road which is due west of St. Johns Bluff road on the right hand side. They have a great fruit and vegetable market Monday through Sunday.
The hours are:
Monday -Friday 10:00-5:00
Saturday & Sunday 7:00-5:00
This is definitely a lot closer than Beaver Street from Baymeadows as it is a very interesting place to check out and it has all you need espescially on Saturday and Sunday,I thoroughly it enjoy and so will you and your friends.

There is also a new farmer's market in Nocatee, the new master planned community in Saint Johns County near Ponte Vedra.

Oh yeah, I remember that line, Joe.
Silly me, tried crossing it the other day and almost got wiped out by an 18-wheeler.
Cops said it was an imaginary truck, big old black truck.
