Wondering if anyone else has noticed a lot more rumbling in the sky this week? I can't see any jets, but I sure can hear them. Curious if there's new flight paths or some sort of special training going on or increased security of the air space or whatever. It's actually becoming annoying (reminds me of the sounds our old oil-fired furnace used to make before it bit the dust) and the vibration caused has made me go around the house making sure glass things aren't touching each other (that tinkling sound is bothersome).

I was thinking the same thing
It is almost as if we are under a new flight path
I wonder if there is someone or place you could call to find out

We heard it in Arlington too. Just speculation: maybe a change in the atmosphere/humidity/cold-air mass causes the noise to be louder??

My childhood home was directly under the NAS flight path for the P-3 training flights. Granted, they are prop instead of jet, but the noise never bothered me. I think it's the cost of doing business in a navy town.

Now, the navy is replacing the P-3s with essentially a militarized 737 jet. So sometime within the next 4-5 years, expect a heavy increase in noise over the NAS flight paths.

Could be just prepping for the nuke sub we're getting.

Or, changes due to bird migration season. Them geese!

I've only been in JCP for about six months, but in the last month, there's been a definite increase in the number of jets rumbling over. The noise is certainly not a significant problem here, but it's noticeable. I wonder if something changed with air traffic patterns as of Jan. 1. I would expect the Times-Union to report something like that if it has happened, but I haven't seen anything.

Not if we get lucky enough for a lil BRAC action over there...

I noticed jet noise a few weeks ago, even on Sundays, here in Fleming Island.
