Post Best maternity Hospital/Doctor SouthSide Blvd

Hi all

I just shifted from New Jersey to Jacksonville.

My wife is pregnent due in April and we are looking for a good doctor (gyne & obse) and Hospital to deliver our baby.

I live on southside blvd (gate parkway west, villa medici)

This will be my first baby so No idea how close should be the hospital

St Luke is the nearest one that I have seen.

I am finding doctor also, if anyone has any references to doctors/hospitals
please share

Thanks in Advance

Baptist in downtown is good also. Not sure if their Baptist South location (off 95/St Augustine rd) does births.
Mayo Hospital off JTB for cancer and major disease treatments.
Shands north of downtown for trauma.

google North East FL OBGYN, large network of offices here in JAX.

Just depends on your insurance.

congrats with your new baby.

I delivered my son at St. Lukes about 14 months ago. We were pleased with their services overall, except for one abrupt nurse, but some were VERY helpful. The birth "suite" we stayed in for 2 nights (my son was 5 weeks premature) was nice, with a couch for my husband to crash on. I even was blessed to have a nurse that was familiar with Bradley while I was in labor (I wanted a natural birth and got my wish). No meds!! As far as a doctor, I had two female MDs, Dr. Van Scriver and Dr. Slade. Dr. Slade was my doc for delivery...LOVED her! Their office is very close to St. Lukes. If your wife is considering a natural birth, my honest opinion is to go with Van Scriver's practice. The C-Section rate these days is 1 in 3, but I think their rate is lower than that and they will try to enable your wife to have a natural birth if there aren't complications, etc. Good luck and congrats on your baby!

All 4 local Baptists (Nassau, Downtown, South, Beaches) deliver babies. Baptist South is expanding labor/delivery unit due to high volume.
