I also have an infant with a second due in three months. We like diversity and enjoy all types of ethnic food. I was wondering if anyone have recently move to Jacksonville and what they think of the city and such. My wife is also concern about Hurricane. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
Move.

hello everyone and for the note i really dont like doing this but........... i see alot of people posting from orange park and clay co. and all that, but....... these people are asking about JACKSONVILLE!

i live near the business district of jacksonville (ballpark:http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...=16&iwloc=addr) and i will say that in contrast to atl, it is really just a scaled down version of it as one already mentioned. i walk across the main st and the acosta bridge every night and walk to the landing and such and i dont see the crime to be a problem as many say and dont think its that slow of a city as one also mentioned. i grew up in clay county and it is a very rural part of outer jax. i believe those outskirt parts like (orange park, mandrain, middleburg, fleming island) do offer better schooling and a lower crime rate than where i reside however downtown does have its perks and if you didnt have a child i would highly advise a move to san marco, or somewhere nearby but i think when having a childs interest in mind you may possibly want to consider somewhere like the above mentioned parts of jax/clay as the duval/downtown schools are not that great and to be even more honest......... the way the J.S.O has been known in the local media lately for shooting people without rightful cause makes me more scared of the police than the criminals

ps. im not trying to scare you away, i love where i live and i LOVE being in downtown jax however i am also a single 23 year old man as well and do not have a family. if i did i may consider moving back to the 32065 area (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...=12&iwloc=addr)

I have a friend looking to move to Jacksonville. He is looking to find a nice neighborhood for his family. He has one son who is about to turn three (he will be in school in about a year). What do you recommend?

Smile Hope this helps!

We moved to the Jax/St. Aug area last summer from Atlanta. It's better than I could have ever imagined. St. Johns County schools are among the best in the United States, my kids are thriving in school. Before we moved down here the idea was terrifying, especially with all of my family and friends being in the Cobb/Paulding/Cherokee County areas of Georgia. But now that we are in our home down here and making more new friends and setting up our lives down here, it is so awesome. Your not far from the beautiful beach and there are alot of things to do, and it just keep getting better. It's like being on vacation all the time! Not to mention how beautiful it is donw here in the right areas. Hope this helps!
