Default Atlantic Beach Neighborhoods

Greetings:

Can anyone break down the names, character, and parameters of the Atlantic Beach neighborhoods? We hear there are several distinct areas but can't get a good read on it.

Also, I have the site for the Jacksonvile crime stats but I haven't found any similar site for the beaches. Does anyone know of a reliable source of info. regarding crime in the beach areas?

Thanks!

I have a 10 year old Jacksonville and The Beaches streetmap that shows the names of the neighborhoods:

Should the photo be deleted for whatever reason, please DM me.

Everything east of Selva Marina Drive is VERY nice and you don't have to worry about crime at all. We stayed in an oceanfront vacation home/condo recently in The Bluffs area and the owner who was not at home when we arrived (around 9 p.m.) left the entry door unlocked. It didn't seem to bother her at all. I have no crime statistics, but I'd say there's almost zero random crime.

Other "rather" nice parts are Selva Linkside, Selva Lakes, Seaspray and Saltair. Never heard about much crime there, either.

Then there's the Mayport corridor, which I would definitely avoid. Although the city is trying to make it nicer and safer, it's still a place I prefer to pass with the doors locked.

I haven't been in the neighborhoods west of Mayport Rd, so I can't tell you anything about them.

Connie

AB is great, but also check out Neptune Beach and Jax Beach. There are lot of beautiful neighborhoods there as well! If you have a chance to come out and drive around, that would be the best way to see our area, b/c AB is pretty small compared with the rest of the beaches neighborhoods.

Maybe check out the Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach and Atlantic Beach police websites for more crime info - but honestly, we don't have that much crime at the beaches. It's very laid back. Also check out our local beach papers, The Shorelines and The Beaches Leader.

What are the typical rental prices on homes and condos in the AB area? What would the annual salary need to be to live here? 40's?
