Projected last freeze date for this area?
From a gardening standpoint - when is the projected last freeze date in this area? Been trying to find this info but having no luck. I know some of you are gardeners out there. I am getting anxious to plant things but don't want to be too hasty (guess the spring fever got me when I stopped by the Plant Ranch today!) Anyone know? I'm guessing mid-March.

Mid March,,but nothing is for certain,, freezes are possible in April also, although rare. I start planting the first week of March to get a head start before the heat of summer arrives. If a freeze threathens just toss sheets over your plants.

I've been in Jax since 1968, and the last freeze can be any time from Oct. to Apr. Crazy weather down here.

A freeze in Oct wouldnt be considered the last it would the first since a new season would be starting. The last freeze usually occurs mid March or early April. The weather is what it is for our location.

I was just wondering the same thing
I was just out in the back yard looking at all the BROWN. I dug through some of the mess and to my surprise there is some green down there. I wondering if I can safely start to prune the palms and citrus and clean up the perennials? Anyone got some advice?

Same here.
Our poor tree fern really took a beating, but new fronds are poking up out of the wreckage.
I went ahead and trimmed off the dead stuff, I just couldn't stand it anymore.
I hope we don't get another freeze, but if we do, I'll toss a sheet over.

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from you lately. You were hibernating. You know I always look forward to your comedy.

Okay, I'm tired of waiting. I'm going to give it one more week and then I plan on putting out some new herbs and tomato plants so I've decided there can be no more freezes! Last freeze date is March 21, according to HollyinJAX.
