Are there any bars or events in Jax that attract an older crowd? I'm over 40 and I'm not sure of a good place to go on Friday and Saturday nights. Maybe a dance club?

The over 40 crowd usually meets at Home Depot or Lowe's.

There are great bars in Atlantic Beach like Ragtime, and one other I can't think of the name. They have live music too. If you want St Augustine, go to Tradewinds, mostly all over 40, fun fun place right in downtown St Aug. For Jax, also go to the Landing, lots of bars there too.

That is why, at age 60, we simply stay at home on most Friday/Saturday nights. Not much for us "older folks" to do! Can go to dinner at Golden Corral or that Country/Rock Club at the Landing (will try that place sometime). But, during the daytime hours......look out.....shooting range, get the boat out and do some fishing, go to WalMart (did I say really say "go to WalMart !?).
But, then again, sitting at home on a weekend night and watching a good Blu-Ray movie or a DVD Music Concert and having a couple of beers/shots and some snacks really isn't such a bad idea......and cheap at that!
Yep, when some people get to be 40 plus (up to/past 60), and are married, we only "think" about the HOT weekend nights we use to have when we were single!

The Marriott at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra has a nice pub lounge. I haven't been there in a few years but the last time they had a live band and the age group was 35+

Its funny you should mention that. I discovered this place by accident when staying there recently. It IS a good time. Especially if you just have to stagger back to your room.
