Where do people live if work is in Madison County, FL?
Can anyone, please, provide information regarding best places to live that may be within a one and a half hour (1.5 hrs) from Madison County, FL. We have three children in elementary school and the order of importance is:
1-Best Public Schools
2-Safety
3-Activities for Children (sports, ballet, music, etc)
4-Housing - We'll rent initially at not more than $1600/mos, thinking to purchase at not more than $500K
5-Shopping and medical facilities

Wow, that's quite a drive from Jacksonville. You might want to consider Tallahassee as the closest Metropolitan area. Nothing but small towns are closer. Maybe Lake City or Live Oak?

Valdosta and Lake Park, Georgia are near by. Some people drive back and forth the Tallahassee. My sister and her husband moved from Madison to Valdosta so their kids would have more educational/recreational opportunities.

There's a six flags there that ive never been to. Also Valdosta St. used to have a pretty good Division I-AA (FCS) football program. Their big QB from back in the day, Jonathan Quinn (i think), spent some time with the Jaguars organization. Sorry...thats about all I can tell ya. Ask this in the Georgia forum. |
